Message from the Founder and Chief Executive
UDPS is an Institution for Social & Financial Services and it is a National NGO. UDPS is one of the leading foremost NGOs has been implementing socio-economic development projects and microcredit programs across the country with reputation and donors’ appreciation in 21 districts with 100 branch offices starting from most of the northern districts to Dhaka, Narayangonj, Gazipur, Chittagong and Noakhali of southern districts of the country. Providing hazardous and risky loan to the poor is indeed a very challenging task and UDPS has been doing this task with success since its long journey started from 1st September 1986 at Salandar Upazila of Thakurgaon District.
It is my pleasure to mention that UDPS has achieved excellent progress to bring the poor specially women, children and adolescents out of extreme poverty and make them self-reliant through implementing different humanitarian socio-economic development projects and providing financial assistance with diversified microcredit programs to supplement the government strategic planning and efforts for poverty alleviation in Bangladesh. The lifestyle of the poor people of the project area has been changed to a great extent and raised awareness on different life-based issues through receiving training, ensured food security and livelihood, gained access to assets through rearing poultry, livestock, fish-culture, homestead gardening and other Income Generating Activities (IGA). The entrepreneurs have established themselves in the society utilizing their skills and created job opportunity for others through starting small business taking financial assistance from UDPS.
During the long 29 years uphill journey, I would like to thanks with deep gratitude and appreciation to all donors, PKSF, partner NGOs, local leaders, social elites, community people of the project areas, well-wishers and all staff members of UDPS for their generous assistance and continued all out support for the present progress and achievement of UDPS. I would also thanks all distinguished members of GC and EC of UDPS for their kind cooperation and spontaneous participation to meetings contributing immensely in policy making and guidelines for good governance and management of UDPS. I pray to Allah for the salvation of those colleagues who extended their best contribution to UDPS for its present achievement and left us to lead their eternal life.
In conclusion successfully operating the activities, I would like to give thanks to my colleagues for their sincere contribution and support. I pray to Allah for peace and happiness for all of us in the years to come.
